Bison Head Cigar and Lounge nearing grand opening in downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Bison Head Cigar & Lounge, touting itself as Roanoke’s only public cigar lounge, is targeting a grand opening by Labor Day.

Located on Campbell Avenue in the heart of downtown Roanoke, the space is owned by Jimmy Lewis, who brings with him 12 years of experience in the industry, including stints managing lounges in Lynchburg and Northern Virginia.

“I’ve always known that Roanoke had some desire for something like this, and I’m excited to bring it to the Valley,” said Lewis, noting that Roanoke is the only city among the 10 most populous in Virginia without a public cigar lounge.

With over 250 cigars to choose from and a 25-seat lounge, Lewis is hopeful his space will offer a chance to escape the fast-paced environment of everyday life.

“When you light up a cigar with somebody, you’re saying, ‘I’m dedicating the next hour and a half to sitting, talking, and relaxing, spending time with you,'” said Lewis. “So, you can really deepen relationships, have those conversations that you may not have in other settings.”
