HAVANA, Cuba, August 8 (ACN) Tobacco production in Cuba increased during the first half of 2025, Odelbis Carrazana Lorenzo, director of Logistics and Industry of the Cuban Tobacco Business Group (Tabacuba) affirmed today, according to the Ministry of Agriculture's (MINAG) website.

Production of rolled tobacco for export exceeded the same period in 2024 by six million units, Carrazana Lorenzo stated, adding that these deliveries to the Habanos S.A. Corporation reached 90 %.

The cigarette manufacturing process has recovered after disruptions to the BrasCuba factory in Mariel and is operating at maximum production capacity.For Domestic Trade, 201 million packs were produced, 103.4 % above the planned figure, he indicated.

The executive also noted that the Pinar del Rio parishes affected by Hurricane Ian in 2022 are showing signs of recovery, with agricultural growth compared to 2024.

Mechanized tobacco production has reached 80 % of what was projected, and the deficit is expected to normalize before the end of the year, Carrazana Lorenzo concluded.
