Çnote Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 We're on a roll! Short one today! @Capn_Jackson This immediately starts into a smooth and spice driven gingerbready profile that I love. Intensity rachets up as it tapers, becoming more savory and mineral approaching the band. Ultra smooth, a touch of coffee and cocoa on the retro, way too easy to smoke. Nub with a little caramel and treacle. I'd take boxes of these if I could find them, really any Exclusivo. Call it a 91, very satisfying if not very complex or challenging. 4
Capn_Jackson Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 This one came with the distinct pleasure of @Çnote’s company. On light-up, sassafras’s and root beer. Caramel notes abound. Going on, I note gumbo file and a little honey. Kinda surprised by the gumbo file, but pleasantly. Some dark prune on the finish. More pepper going into the second third, but not overpowering. Sweet and slightly spicy pepper. Around the midpoint, ginger biscotti with cocoa shavings. Not getting much in the way of complexity and not much change, but just a damn good smoke. Everyday smoking potential for sure. Closer to the band, starting to get some fruit on the finish, right under the tip of the tongue. Not so much prune, more plum brandy. A little green grape skin also, but with cocoa underneath. Right after taking the band off, things start to get bitter, with a good inch left. Bitter coffee at first, and eventually bitter ashy taste. Might be me smoking too fast, as I was loving the smoothness of this stick. Up to that point, a very enjoyable smoke! 2
