Popular Post mikejh Posted April 14 Popular Post Posted April 14 Alec Bradley Prensado Gran Toro 6 x 54 (FRCA25) My first ever Prensado. Had this in the humidor for about 6 months. I really enjoy Honduran tobacco, so I've been looking out for anything that features Honduran tobacco in it recently, this is a mix of Honduran and Nicaraguan with a Honduran-grown Corojo wrapper. It was famously/infamously the CA #1 cigar of the year in 2011 with a 96 rating. Draw was excellent, just the right amount of resistance. Flavor in the first third was a great mix of savory and sweet flavors, got a cookie like sweetness. Leathery, cocoa, coffee, earthy flavors. After the first couple inches the flavors mellowed out and were less pronounced, but still enjoyable. A few burn problems along the way that had to be corrected, but no huge construction issues. Would definitely buy again, and bonus, they come in a corona gorda size. Can't say this would rank as a 96 for me, but if I got one where the complex array of flavors were maintained throughout, I would probably say it was 92-93. 10
