Popular Post ayedfy Posted March 21, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 21, 2025 Puro Desnudo N3 Carlota 2023 Opening third: light-bodied, with a flavour profile both complex and agreeable. Brioche and digestive biscuits is how things begin, then without taking away from those notes, there’s the introduction of citrus and cream, but both so delicate that it’s putting me in mind of lemon meringue. Draw is firm but manageable. Middle third: savoury/earthy spices help bring the body up to medium. We now also have new leather and pine wood. Draw begins to open up - construction is superb here, with an even burn line and holding its fire well between breaks (no relighting required even after putting down for several minutes). Around the halfway point, there’s a sweeter shift, as the brioche returns to the fore. Final third: not a lot of flavour development in this last third, most of what was happening in the middle third continues, perhaps with the addition of fresh mint. However, this last third is probably the best part - body now lifts above medium, each of the notes that were previously subtle are now more intense. A great way to finish. Reading some of the other tasting notes, I can’t say I had exactly the same experience, but I can see the potential for it going that way, perhaps with a little more rest. In any case I still really enjoyed what I had - I bought this as a 5er but could see myself going for 25 next time. 87/100 6
