Love the Lusi response. It’s what I was getting at with the question - not good & cheap, just really f’ing good even at current price points. I think the ‘value’ angle favors larger cigars because you are getting more cigar at a better price per ounce.

I am recalling an analysis I did awhile ago that found that the price/gram was surprisingly constant within a Marca*. This means that it doesn't matter whether you chose a tiny stick or a giant stick -- you were paying the same $/gram. Given this observation, one could gain value by choosing cigars with a smaller ring gauge because the number of grams of tobacco discarded in the nub will be smaller with a smaller ring gauge. 

*Caveat: in some Marcas (e.g. Upmann, R&J) the $/gram was slightly better if the stick was below 9 grams.
