gormag38 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Just picked up a bottle of this the other day, Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary 8-Year-Old Bourbon | Wild Turkey. I was delighted to still find three still on the shelf as I know they went just as quickly as they came in my neck of the woods. Was curious if any of the members here have tried it/what their thoughts were? Lately I've been LOVING everything coming out of Wild Turkey so my hopes are high. 1 2
wjs Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I was fortunate to grab two of these recently but haven't had a minute to open it up (likely Thanksgiving because of course). WT has been on fire - been loving WTKS (CN-E) and the LL/ME RR10's are very clearly a step up and a steal for $40/per. The RR15 is probably going to be the BOTY but $$.

Agreed about WT being on fire lately. I heard they supplied a 13 yr (but not from their RR13 stock) to Bardstown for their discovery 11 series and that bottle is probably the best bourbon I've had in the last year. In 2022 the best bottle I bought was a RR private barrel store picks. I boought another private barrel RR in 23 that is a CN-F and COMPLETELY unlike anything I've had from WT, a unique taste at about 62% that is smoooooooooooth. I've not had the RR13 (or 15 for that matter) but I've heard great things. I've actually heard people liking the 13 over the 15, but who know. I'll probably not ever have the luck (or money) to know! 1
