Popular Post JohnS Posted October 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2024 October 1, 2024 - Charlie Minato Cohiba Vistosos Debuts at TFWA 2024 At this week’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2024 in Cannes, France, Habanos S.A. showed off an upcoming release for the travel and duty-free segment. It’s a new Cohiba. The Cohiba Vistosos measures 5 7/10 inches (145mm) x 53. It’s the same vitola as the Trinidad Esmeralda, and like that cigar, it too will feature a pigtail. No details about price have been announced, but the company showed off the travel humidors of 10 cigars. As with many new Cohibas of late, the Vistosos appear to have a unique secondary band, this time it’s a modified version of the main Cohiba band. It’s also unclear when the Vistosos will arrive at travel and duty-free stores. Habanos S.A. oftentimes announces a new exclusive for the channel at the annual TFWA show. Last year’s new item from Habanos S.A.—the Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos—was announced the first week of October 2023 but just went on sale last month and still does not appear to be in widespread distribution. “As everyone knows, since the challenges posed by the pandemic, one of our main objectives has been to recover business volumes in these channels to pre-2020 levels,” said Luis Sanchéz-Harguindey, co-president of Habanos, S.A., in a press release distributed by the company. “We have launched exclusive formats, selecting iconic vitolas and developing presentations that are true works of art, such as travel humidors and collector’s editions. That is why tonight we are pleased to present a product specifically designed for this important sales channel, which in 2023 achieved almost 8 percent growth in sales value compared to 2022, representing 19 percent of Habanos’ total market value.” Source: https://halfwheel.com/cohiba-vistosos-debuts-at-tfwa-2024/443827/ 3 3

JohnS Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 New Cohiba Vistosos Designed For Travelers Oct 3, 2024 - By David Savona Cuba has a new Cohiba for you, but you won’t find it in traditional cigar stores. The new smoke is intended for sale only in duty-free shops around the world, and what Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A. refers to as “travel retail channels.” The new cigar is 5 3/4 inches long with a 53 ring gauge, unique to the Cohiba brand but the same size as the Trinidad Esmeralda. And like many special Cohibas (Edición Limitadas such as the Talismán or 1966, for example, and, of course, the entire Behike line) it has a pigtail cap. Befitting something meant to catch the eye of a world traveler, the cigar comes packed in a 10-count travel humidor. The new smoke was unveiled in Cannes, France, at the Tax Free World Association Exhibition & Conference, a gathering of some 3,000 luxury brands from around the world, which ended today. Habanos co-president Luis Sanchéz-Harguindey said in a statement that one of the reasons behind this release was to boost the number of offerings in what has become a very important business segment for the Cuban cigar industry. “We have launched exclusive formats, selecting iconic vitolas and developing presentations that are true works of art, such as travel humidors and collector’s editions,” he said. “That is why tonight we are pleased to present a product specifically designed for this important sales channel.” Sanchéz-Harguindey went on to say that this business segment grew by nearly eight percent in 2023, and made up 19 percent of Habanos’ total market value. Information on the price of the new cigar was not made available by Habanos, but expect it to be high, as new Cuban cigars have stretched the boundaries of price in recent months. Many of them—particularly those that wear the Cohiba band—have prices of $100 or more per cigar. Source: https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/new-cohiba-vistosos-designed-for-travelers 1

Matai Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Habanos is really slapping a second band on a lot of these cigars and selling them for twice as much.
