Popular Post Tdm_86 Posted July 28, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2024 The second cigar I brought with me on holiday to Crete. This is actually a first for me, haven’t had the No. 50 before. I’ve always heard mixed reviews about these. Pre-light Looks nice, very light wrapper shade. Evenly packed, pretty nice appearance overall. It smells really faintly of hay and not much else. I actually found a sharp knife, so haven’t had to use my fingernail to cut this one. First half The first couple of draws don’t have much of a taste at all, just a general mustiness. As it warms up a bit, it’s sweet cedar on the draw with a bit of creamy and undefined acidic twang that’s somewhere in the citrus direction. Second half The flavors intensify, still smooth cedar on the draw with a bit of creamy coffee on the palate. Where it really shines now is on the finish, the citrus is now defined as a creamy orange like you would get from an orange creamsicle. Very unique. Once I get past the band it turns more to cedar, coffee and nuts. Still creamy until the end. Conclusion A very nice experience, great construction and an agreeable profile for me. Mind you, it’s a very light bodied cigar so the flavors described are faint and I definitely had to look for them. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this tremendously. Smoke time was about 45 minutes. 92/100 6
