According to Halfwheel, the Saint Luis Rey La Cuna Regional Edition has arrived in Italy. It pleases me to add that it is a Dalia-sized 43 ring gauge x 170 mm (or 6¾ inches) in length.

Saint Luis Rey La Cuna, An Edicion Regional, Arrives in Italy

This month, stores in Italy have begun selling the Saint Luis Rey La Cuna, officially part of the 2021 class of Edición Regional cigars.

The Saint Luis Rey La Cuna Edición Regional Italia  is a lonsdale size measuring 6 7/10 inches (170mm) x 43 ring gauge, a vitola formally known as the dalia within the Cuban vitola naming system. As is typical with an Edición Regional release, it carries a red secondary band that denotes that this cigar is exclusive to Italy.

A representative for Diadema S.p.A., the Cuban cigar distributor for Italy, told halfwheel that pricing is set at €21 ($US22.75) per cigar and the Saint Luis Rey La Cuna Edición Regional Italia is limited to 10,000 numbered boxes of 10 cigars.

This is the first time Italy has received a Saint Luis Rey as part of the Edición Regional program, which is offered by Habanos S.A. to its various distributors around the world. Each year, distributors can select one cigar to be commissioned for their region, though there have been exceptions when some distributors have been able to select more than one. Those cigars must come from a brand that was not part of the company’s former “Global Brands,” meaning brands like Cohiba and Montecristo are excluded. Additionally, the cigars must be a size that is currently not offered in that specific brand.

Edición Regional cigars are signified by a secondary red and silver band that reads Edición Regional, followed typically by the name of the region represented by that specific distributor. Oftentimes, the cigars do not arrive at stores during the year they are selected for, sometimes multiple years later. The La Cuna was officially part of the 2021 class, though this isn’t the first time this year that a 2021 Edición Regional release has debuted.

There are a couple of claims that they are actually there. But given the holidays... I'd expect to see them on BR if that were true!

I'd like to get a box at/near retail. But no chance I expect. 🙄 I've been offered one at double RRP so far.

There have been a few boxes of the new ER Francia, LGC Podium (dobles vitola) this week but I couldn't get my hands on it.

Same. Add the uselessness of the aussie dollar against the swiss franc and euro and I'll be bent over for many a night in some dark carpark before I can afford it.

Saint Luis Rey La Cuna

This month, stores in Italy have started selling the Saint Luis Rey La Cuna, which is officially part of the 2021 class of Edición Regional cigars.

The Saint Luis Rey La Cuna Edición Regional Italia is a lonsdale-sized cigar measuring 6 7/10 inches (170mm) by 43 ring gauge, known as the dalia in the Cuban vitola naming system. As is typical with Edición Regional releases, it features a red secondary band indicating its exclusivity to Italy.

The Saint Luis Rey La Cuna Edición Regional Italia is priced at €21 ($22.75) per cigar and is limited to 10,000 numbered boxes of 10 cigars each.

This is the first time Italy has received a Saint Luis Rey cigar as part of the Edición Regional program offered by Habanos S.A. to its global distributors. Each year, distributors can commission one cigar for their region, though there are exceptions where more than one cigar can be selected. These cigars must come from brands not part of the company’s former “Global Brands,” such as Cohiba and Montecristo, and must be a size not currently offered in that brand.

Edición Regional cigars are identified by a secondary red and silver band that reads “Edición Regional,” typically followed by the name of the region represented by that distributor. Often, these cigars do not arrive in stores during the year they are selected, with releases sometimes delayed by years. Although the La Cuna is officially part of the 2021 class, it is not uncommon for 2021 Edición Regional releases to debut in subsequent years due to such delays.
