Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted June 17, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 17, 2024 Just watched the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. There's a scene where Henry Cavill's character avails himself of some fine spirits and cigars. Didn't expect to see Opus X in this WWII period piece. The prop masters got this one wrong I'd say.😁 In this closeup you can see the box has several sized vitolas of unbanded cigars too. 3 7
MrFolgers Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Well you see, these were strictly diplomatic Cigars given to officials as State gifts. It wasn’t until the mid-90s that they were commercially launched. (Sound familiar? 🙄) 2
mohammed.s.almutlaq11 Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 It is all about marketing. They are trying to make the Opus like Cohiba. I believe they can’t because Castro used to talk about Cohibas and he used to smoke it. I believe it was his favorite. He gave it to other popular people like Saddam and then he used to smoke it everyday. I can’t tell whether it was for the taste because I have not smoked smoked many Cohibas because I got into cigar collecting in 2020. Also, the prices...well, I just couldn’t buy Cohiba with these prices. I believe there are so many better Cuban cigars than Opus for me.
