So I mentioned in my intro post. I had been in the game back in the 90's-00's, but switched over to pipes for the last 20 years. Oh the days of $80 dollar boxes of monte 4's. I still have a decent stock of stuff from the 1970's to mid 2000s. I am also not an idiot so I don't want to smoke everything I have from 1970-2005 lol (raising a glass for LGC Tainos which I am down to 2 of). I pulled out my MRN book today, and damn near everything I used to buy is either long gone, or way out of my price range currently. My old favorites were DC/Churchill size (yeah not happening with today prices) or sub 50 RG cigars like lonsdales and thinner (yeah, under 50 RG does not much exist anymore from what I have seen). I am between jobs so no Cohibas in my future, but I been slowly dipping back into the game with some old fav's, Boli PC, RASCC, PLPC, and SCdH Principes. Currently looking to expand into stuff I have not tried that's not ridiculously pricey. I been trying for some (looking at you PL Montecarlo, but I have yet to breach the sub 1 second email time to get some). But what do ya'll recommend for 25's that are still reasonably priced, or even better, some 10's, as most of them I have not tried. Looking sub 400'ish for pricing until I gainfully employed again. I know I am not the only one recently back into Cubans as I have already talked to a few here, and my dumb luck I come back when pricing is crazy lol.

Hi @mwscotsman !

I would go for Partagas Shorts or Super Partagas (25's), Punch Shorts de Punch and Por Larranaga Galanes (10's) to begin with.

Indeed the CC World you knew is no longer but you might enjoy those and they're still "affordable", kind of...

Cheers !

(1) I am not so confident the price is still reasonable, but I recommend as follows.

Partagas Aristocrats

Partagas Serie P2 (10's)

Hoyo de Monterrey Palmas Extra

Por Larranaga Petit Coronas (sorry, this is 50's)

Punch Short de Punch

H.Upmann Half Coronas

Ramon Alloness Specially Selected

Vegas Robaina Famosos

(2) Compaired to 1990-2000 era, better point is that the quality of almost akll the Cuban cigars is greatly improved according to my personal experience.

(3) For example, my Romeo y Julietta Churchill in 2020 is unbelievably better than the ones in 1990's I smoked.

For a bit more than 400 I would recommend Juan Lopez 2, a reliable cigar that is as good as any in my opinion. Rafael Gonzalez is a cheaper option, the Perlas is a great value cc and very consistent for me. You can also spring for 5 packs of Monte 3 or 4.
