Popular Post Pmo13
Love a good Dunbarton stick these days, especially the OG Brûlées. For whatever reason though, the Brûlée Blues have never agreed with me. Given, I guess I could’ve just gotten a bad box, but you never know. That being said, when these were announced, I was immediately intrigued. They’ve only been in my humidor for about 4-5 days, but I couldn’t wait to light one up. I love a good box press (trunk press in this case) and one of my chief issues with my Blues box was bad draws, so this seemed like a natural fix. Immediately from light up, I could tell I was in love. Creamy, chewy smoke texture through and through with this bad Larry. Light almonds and coffee au lait sweetness upfront. Kind of reminded me of an espresso paired with an almond croissant for breakfast. Not much in the way of transitions which actually surprised me given the Toro size of the stick, but honestly, that wasn’t an issue for me. Burn was impeccable for the first 2/3 and then required a bit of touching up, but it was windy today so I would deduct any points. I paired this with a Dr Pepper which is my usual go-to with Nicaraguans, but I’ll definitely lean towards an iced coffee or latte next time. I’ll give it a solid B+ and could easily see this going into the As with a bit more rest.
