Humidor smell/odour/aftertaste

Hi FoH folks,

Six months back I bought a used Adorini cigar cabinet. It came with some boxes of New World cigars and a fair amount of Cuban fakes. Not surprisingly the cabinet had a distinct odour of in particular these fakes. I cleaned it out and put my collection of cigars in. Unfortunately several months later there is a lingering remnant of this smell that now features as an aftertaste part as I smoke my stogies. My question now is two fold: Can I expect for this odour to dissipate with the passing of time? And if not, can moving my cigars to another humidor get rid of this aftertaste?

Any advice is highly appreciated!
