ha_banos Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 The missus and I are thinking of spending a couple of weeks driving around North Spain for a break this summer. Reaching out for food spots and old towns to visit. Of course I'll scour the interwebs and check in with our generative overlords as well. Walks, lazy days, sightseeing, did I mention good food 😊 Any tips appreciated. TIA 2
cigaraholic Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 I’m sure San Sebastián will be at or close to the top of your interweb search. Beautiful beach and city, incredible food, wonderful people. Bring plenty of cigars, the smoking lamp is always lit. 4
Popular Post El Presidente Posted March 7, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 7, 2024 I second San Sebastian. Adore the place and it nails your need to a "T". Northern Spain is gorgeous. Pamplona/Bilbao and San Sebastian make a lovely travel triangle. I would still spend 80% of my time in San Sebastian. Road trip, start at Pamplona and finish up in Galicia (Lugo/Campostela....wherever). Just drive/cruise/no real plan. 5
MagicalBikeRide Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Echo above re San Sebastian. Really cool spot. 1
ha_banos Posted March 8, 2024 Author Posted March 8, 2024 Thanks all SS sounds nicer than expected. Wife wants bit of a plan. I'd prefer to wing it a bit for sure. Looking forward to it. 👍🏼
Li Bai Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Sans Sebastian is a gorgeous city! Plus you could plan a visit to Carmelo Endolz's tienda (@cigarspecialist on Instagram and YT, nice channel !) 1
Dr vonPuffenberg Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 The wife and I took a “food trip” to Santiago de Compostela a couple years ago and it was fantastic. Make your way to Rua do Franco and stroll the restaurants. The specialties are mostly seafood, and we were not disappointed. Beautiful town to stroll as well. 1
