How well received the Nudies have been are a true testament to Hamlet’s ability to put a great blend together. Has anybody tried any of the blends he did for Rocky? I would like to get my hands on anything Hamlet touches however I’m sure the tobaccos used were different as well as the intention for the blends. Let me know if you have any experience and how they compare to the Nudies...

Different blends indeed. Completely different.

I enjoy the RP that Hammy worked on. Anniversary releases mostly.

They don't really compare to Nudies, but they're good. They are Patel cigars blended by Hamlet, so still very core US market driven

The closest to a CC imho is the 25th Anniversary, my understanding is with this blend Hamlet was given more free reign on what to do.

I've had several sizes of Tabaquero, they're a great blend of a more standard rich and full NC concept. I have some Hamlet 2020 but haven't got into them yet.

The RP Hamlet 25th Anniversary mentioned above is a good place to start, if you wish to go on that journey. The robusto is a very satisfying cigar, and one of my favorite NC’s. You probably won’t be reminded of Nudies much, but still highly enjoyable.

Is it fair to say they are Rocky Patel cigars that happen to be blended by Hamlet, or rather Hamlet blend that happens to be a Rocky Patel cigar?

RP cigars blended by Hamlet at the time.

I think Hamlet needs a forum account for this kind of occasion, could be cool to get answers straight from the source and I also hear he swears a lot which I find entertaining. 😆

Hamlet talks about the first cigar with RP here: https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/qa-hamlet-paredes-rocky-patel-premium-cigars-inc-19234

Q: Let's talk about creating the blend for the Tabaquero Hamlet Paredes brand.

A: I did 124 blends to make that brand. And the final blend was the first. Rocky brought me tobacco from everywhere. I was assuming that any package of tobacco that says a region, and didn't say the country, was from Nicaragua. So I'm blending. After six, seven months, I got my blend. And it got rated in Cigar Insider. So I begin to read—it says Nicaraguan filler. Binder, half Mexican, half Brazilian. I freak out. Brazilian tobacco? I never used Brazilian tobacco. I'm calling Rocky, Nimish [Desai], marketing, everybody. A half hour later, Nimish called me back. He said, "Can you tell me the regions you used in the cigar?" I said Mata Fina... He said hold on. Mata Fina is in Brazil. Are you kidding me? That's how blind I was. It was all about my palate.

He has an account but the man is pretty bloody busy between bouncing between the the factory (Honduras) and Florida.

Jump on one of our FOH zoom sessions when he is on. I always publicise the fact a few days/week in advance. Best way to ask direct questions and get .........very direct.....answers :lookaround:

I will set one up for next week. :ok:

That could be fun, I’m awkward AF so I’m sure my presence will be entertaining for folks.

We sold a lot of Hamlet's stuff from RP.  We even have a store exclusive 25th Anni. Corona, that is still the cigar I smoke more than any other cigar.  Different experience than the other 3 vitolas and I think the best by far.  Also it's the ?closest" to the current Nudies profile.

The Tabaquero blend was the original blend. Most of them still out there now have a good amount of age on them and smoke brilliantly today (Bala and Corona, especially). We bought up a bunch of coronas when the partnership ended.
