Melbourne Cup Raceday was a cracker yesterday.  The Czar deck was pumping as members came together for cigars, drinks and food with bets being placed every 3 minutes on races across the country.  

 

Now there is a downside to "speed betting"  on mobile sport betting apps. That has never been highlighted more than when my good mate (let's call him ...Artie)  mistakenly put a bet of $2000 instead of $20 on a nag running at a track that I still don't know  where is located. 

 

He screamed. We roared in laughter.....as mates do. We then all stopped what we were doing to watch the race on the big screen and cheer home his horse who hit the lead at the final turn and kicked away. Artie was riding every stride as his awry bet was about to deliver $35,000

 

.....the horse  faded  and ran an impressive 6th.   😂

 

This is why I only bet one day a year  😉

With 200 to go I had the trifecta in the bag then.... bloody Sheraz came running down the outside. DOH! There goes my Summer cigar budget I was planning on. Ha ha!
