sjbliven Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 Pre light- nice Colorado wrapper, it’s a little rough, but not toothy. Has very little smell on wrapper, but the foot has a nice sweet hay smell, although not overpowering. Large V-notch cut, with a suitable, but somewhat restricted draw. 1st third First two puffs are nougat, with a hint of sweetness (you could say cherry, but I wonder if that’s only because I’m looking at the R&J band). Exactly what I was looking for tonight in terms of flavor profile. A little on the light bodied side for now though. Transitions to a more savory version of the first two puffs, but with a strangely pleasant weak sulphur flavor/smell/sense, and a very nice rich black coffee finish that ultimately picked up a dark chocolate note. Razor like burn 2nd third Picking up a little more sweetness in the dark chocolate note. The black coffee is intense (which I am thoroughly enjoying), and dominates the somewhat short finish. The draw has loosened up to a quite acceptable level, and the increased smoke output is nice to see here in this third, and the body has ticked up to light+. Last third The chocolate and coffee flavors have been replaced with an over roasted almond and burnt baking spice flavor that isn’t at all as unpleasant as it sounds. Overall, this was a good stick that hit enough of the profile that I was craving. 89/100 4
