El Presidente Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Cuba to host international meeting on Partagás cigar They noted that lovers of Cuban premium (hand-rolled) cigars will be delighted again from November 13 to 17, during the 34th International Meeting of Customers and Friends of Casa Partagás. Casa Partagás General Director René Valdés noted that on this occasion, the program will consist of the usual welcome cocktail in the halls of the Hotel Iberostar Parque Central, the tasting of cigars and rums of the highest quality, a smoking competition, and artistic presentations. The Meeting will also include a visit to Tarará beach and the Marlin Tarará Marina, where delegates will have the opportunity to taste Cuban seafood-based dishes and take part in nautical activities, along with cigar tastings. The main organizer of the event said that participants will also visit to the Guanabito farm, in Mi Hacienda (Habana del Este municipality), with activities typical of Cuba’s countryside. The closing ceremony will take place at the Arcos de Cristal Room of the world-famous Tropicana Cabaret (1939), with the best proposals of the week in terms of cigars and rums tasting. 1 2
Corylax18 Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 It looks like another enjoyable itinerary, especially the closing dinner at the Tropicana. I won't be able to make this festival, but I'm really glad to see they decided to do it again this year. Last year's attendance was highly disappointing from a volume perspective. Like last year, the prices are again eye wateringly high, still lower than the February Festival, but very high compared to pre-pandemic years. 2 1
LizardGizmo Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I heard today that the Partagás shop staff, led by Rene - are much more involved this year than last. Caracol wholly ran the show last year in a cost cutting effort (to the visible dismay of shop staff) and really disappointed long time attendees, aside from the closing gala dinner at Tropicana as @Corylax18 mentioned. Last year’s dinner was great and unfortunately I am also unable to attend this year. I was also happy that the only power outage we experienced the entire trip last November was during the gala dinner - we expected way worse given the stories around the time after the difficult hurricane season. 2
