01Vert Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Just asking the group on their opinion on the Austrian regional release of the San Cristobals. Anyone try them yet? I have a box put away but wasn’t sure if I should try to pick up more. Cost was about $210 US a box. Not online.
Tunkat92 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I haven’t had one. I have a few coming my way to try. My friend said they were very good and ready to smoke. 1
Bada_Bing_NJ Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I thought I saw a box on BR other day, they looked really good! probably the closet to a Hungary RE Habano! I would definitely cop a box as well.
JohnS Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 The 2021 San Cristobal de la Habana Obispo was recently released in mid-2023. It is a Robustos-sized cigar, the same as the well-known Partagas Serie D No.4.
Bada_Bing_NJ Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 This might be the one I’ll get 4-5 boxes if I can acquire for 200-250€ 🥵 1

Bada_Bing_NJ Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Austo-Hungarian Empire San Cristobal in my opinion to light/mild. Need a med-full I thought more so a Robusto or Dobles format, RA or Partagas blend (Bolivar keeps coming to mind also but not familiar with brand) with twang barnyard, extra paprika spice. Beginning...not too overpowering, to a middle ending, krémesh pastry coffee. Look up why Russians never took Hungarian prisoners during the wars. Pretty interesting. 🤔
Garand Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Looks like they are still available. Be sure to hit the specialists when in Vienna or elsewhere. 1
