Popular Post btort910 Posted September 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2023 Wow! My cigars arrived today and I waited one whole hour before lighting one of these beauties. The wrapper was silky smooth and slightly oily with virtually no visible seams. It was firm from one end to the other and had a perfect draw. Aroma at cold was chocolate with a little leather touch. The first inch continued the chocolate but quickly added some aromatics to the mix. Initially it came on pretty strong but mellowed out fairly quickly. The retro was slightly peppery at first but settled down and was very enjoyable for the rest of the smoke. As the cigar progressed through the first third and into the second, the chocolate notes faded and the cigar took on a nice spicey quality. The aromatics (I think ginger and/or nutmeg) prevailed with a little peppercorn added for good measure. This was a well- balanced smoke as some leather and earth notes joined in later. My palate and memory aren't good enough to draw any comparisons to the Coloniales and Mag 46 mentioned by the tasting panel, but this cigar stands on its own as one magnificent smoke. The burn was perfect, there were no touch-up or relights required and the plentiful smoke had a long and enjoyable finish on the palate. Whatever rh these cigars were shipped at was perfect and my hope is that my humidor doesn't change that. A small crack in the wrapper developed about halfway through the smoke but had no effect on the performance of this cigar. The quality of the blending and construction of this cigar was exceptional and if this is any indication of what to expect from the rest of the MOFOH series, I won't spend another minute worrying about being priced out of the CC market. I have been enjoying the Nudies I purchased a couple of years ago, but this cigar is 2 or 3 cuts above. Right off the truck this cigar was easily a 90 or 91 for me. If they actually get better after a nice long rest in the humidor they will be an amazing smoke. I had a '14 Connie A yesterday that was the best cigar I've had in a long while and this one isn't all that far behind it. 9 1
El Presidente Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Great review Hamlet and I want to produce great cigars....90-92 point cigars that you can smoke affordably every day. We have no idea if these will reach 93-94 point cigars. They should. You shouldn't care
