Fosgate Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 This is unfortunate. I live less than an hour away from Deadwood. Deadwood Tobacco Lawsuit Just when I found one of their cigars I truly enjoy (Chasing the Dragon-Auntie with a great ring gauge, fruity apricot notes, smooth smoking and burning) they go and pull this. If your going to sell your name, don't go sell it to 3 others. Especially when they can afford lawyers more than you. I really don't see Deadwood Tobacco coming out of this alive. Even if they are right, Drew Estates can afford the ride through litigation more than DTC. They just located their smoke room not long ago out of the basement below Oyster Bay to what I believe was the old American Legion. Nice setup, but I noticed right away their humidor room appears to be finished in Pine and not Cedar. Why would anyone do this other than to cut cost?
El Presidente Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Ugly. Vey ugly. It is so important to have very good IP lawyers who conduct an IP audit on your brands and who keep their fingers on the pulse. It is an area often put to the backburner as other things take precedence. 1
