Popular Post david9985 Posted August 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 13, 2023 This was my third one of these... first at approx. a month's rest, then a couple more weeks, then now. Each has been better better than the previous. Paired with Guinness based on the previous two and it was a perfect match. The draw was open and initial flavours were sugar sweetness, the stick reminding me of a good Sancho Panza profile. It burned well and allowed regular set-downs without the need for touch-ups. The second third saw a burnt cookie profile and a chocolatey sweetness on the nose. There was a noticeable transition from light/medium to medium/full too and I did fear that if it continued getting stronger it would be more than a match for me! From second to final third the flavour transitioned away from the sweetness and towards leather. Thankfully the strength didn't continue to ramp beyond medium/full and I was surprised when I stood up after ~90mins that there was no nicotine spin or mad need for some chocolate. In conclusion, the Canonazo lives up to its advertising of opening with heavy sweetness and an obvious transition both in terms of strength and of flavours. Smoking this is a thoroughly enjoyable journey. Having read some of the other reviews from this round after having compiled my own thoughts, it is unusual that there is such consistency from reviewer to reviewer on the same stick. Almost without exception we are seeing these build deliberately in strength through the thirds and move from straight sweetness >> chocolate/biscuit/bread >> leather/earth. A really nice job Hamlet and Rob! Thank you both! 5
