Popular Post saltbox Posted May 1, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 1, 2023 The Epi 2 is one I don't reach for as often as I think I should. I think I just don't reach for Hoyo as often, and when I do it's usually a Rio de Seco. First third: opens with cedar and cream. A touch of that pencil lead, with some delicate floral notes on the finish. The burn line wiggles back and forth and it takes a few touchups to keep it going steadily. Middle third: the cedar has taken a step back and allowed for some baking spices, cloves and cinnamon, to come forward. There's a bit of salty savoriness, like a salted caramel sweetness on the finish. Last third: marshmallow cream, cedar, cloves. Last third starts to get a bit hot, and it's harshes out the flavors. Overall: great up until the last third, which I recall having been a problem with this box so far. Over 3 years of box age and 2 years of rest at 62RH, so I'm a bit surprised it's still an issue. 88/100 6
