01Vert Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Here currently and unless you are in Minato there is nowhere to smoke. NCs are all I have seen for sale and the prices are not as good as the US although I have seen plenty of Opus X, just a aggravating prices, especially as once you buy one, you have nowhere to smoke it. disappointing. I expected the Cuban shortage but the lack of places to smoke is disheartening.
SokaKiel Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Is it really that bad? I used to live in Japan until about two years ago and you could smoke in most whiskey bars and even the tiniest bars in Golden Gai in Shinjuku! Will be back for a short stint in July, very much looking forward to the country, the people, the food! Cheers, Leif 1
01Vert Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Every placed I asked they said “no”. Looks like a law went into effect in 2020. I didn’t try the golden gai so not sure about there. The whiskey bar I tried was listed in a long ago post here as cigar friendly and he was a hard no. Very much enjoying our time here, just thought it would be nice to unwind some nights somewhere closer to our hotel.
Popular Post 01Vert Posted April 5, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted April 5, 2023 Update. I did find Cohiba Atmosphere in Rippongi and they had Cubans. The waiter stated if I had come in two days earlier I would have seen empty shelves. Upper two shelves were Cubans, lower two NCs and another couple shelves to the side are out of view. 5 2
