jasutherland92 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Hello all, I have been smoking on a box of Hoyo Petit Robustos that have all been incredible. The last third on each have been awesome, tasting like pure cane sugar. The problem is that I end up wishing they would last another 20-30 minutes. Does anyone have a recommendation for a similarly blended cigar that lasts a little longer? El Pres suggested the Rio Seco was kind of close in the chat. I just received a 10er of those over the weekend but was going to let them sit for a couple weeks before I fire one up. Thanks for any suggestion
SingleBarrel Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I find that the Punch Punch is very similar. They both have the fruity baking spice characteristics. My Punch’s and HDM’s were both 2020’s too. Interested in hearing what other people have too say because I LOVE the Petit Robusto’s. 1

Unfortunately, I find The Hoyo PR's to be terribly inconsistent. I blew threw a box a few years back that I couldn't keep my hands out of... Haven't found any that have given me anything close to that since. Have you tried San Cristobal? La Fuerza may fit the bill for what you're seeking

I've been wanting to try them, but was torn on snagging a box when it's not my favorite size. May have to just try and get a split.

El Principe might be a better way to try the brand with a lighter wallet workout, but i suggested fuerza just based on the vitola.

I missed out on a 24:24 split of the Petit Robustos yesterday. Not quick enough! I like the SC Principe, how does the Fuerza compare flavor-wise?

It’s on my list to try and get on 24:24 and having you say that will make it my priority (and those Montecarlos on Friday). Hopefully the next couple boxes of HdMPR’s are like my first. Thanks again
