Tubes with cedar lining

Hi all,

I always take my cigars out of celo/tubes for ageing. I recently thought how practical it is to transport a cigar in its original tube but then it dawned on me that if I add the original cedar lining, wouldn't it dry out the cigar? I thought perhaps I should keep the tube or just the cedar lining in the humidor as well?

Any thoughts?

I keep a handful of tubes with their cedar in the humidor. I either crack the cap open or take it off. The idea is to keep the cedar humidified so when transporting, you have a lil extra reserve of humidity in there. 
 

Tubos are great! Keep a few sizes handy and you can bring any cigar you want and it’s ready to smoke

If you're gonna pop the top off (which I recommend for storing), make sure to save it in a bag somewhere. Those tubos are very handy when going out to the golf course

I usually box half and keep half in the tubes with the ceder intact . I have some Porr Larranaga petit lanceros tubos from 1974 which are just sensational. I can't remember smoking a bad tubos. I have always been a fan of the Punch Coronation line and for me they age beautifully in tubes lid on.

Opinions vary on this one so do a little 3 to 6 month trial if you enough sticks. The comments above are spot on.
