Popular Post Islandboy Posted December 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 24, 2022 I’ve come to realize in recent years, a Saint Luis Rey with 5+ years under its belt is just about my favorite indulgence when it comes to cigars. Yeah, fine time to figure this out, as it’s unlikely the number of SLR’s in my humidor will go anywhere but down. But such is life, and as expected, this Marquez delivered the goods. As usual with my experiences with this marca, caramelized brown sugar is the theme. Wafts of vanilla flirt with me, as does molasses. But the burnt brown sugar is the mainstay flavor. This basically summarizes the transitions, very much to my liking. How this marca is shamefully reduced to a single regular production vitola defies logic. 12

I know others get peach as the main but I've always thought SLR had more darkness than that. I do get hints of fruit, sweet cream, and bits of leather but I think you've nailed the main for me on these. 1
