Popular Post tjkoala Posted November 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2022 Hello from an unusually warm November day in North Carolina! I received this La Fuerza as part of a sampler a while back and the date is unknown. Draw - Perfect draw, a touch of resistance as a well rolled CC should be. Smell - Heavy barnyard smell coming off of this example. A slight ammonia hit me on the back end making me think it was a younger stick. Smoking Experience - The cliche is to call these a Cuban Padrón… well it smoked like a Cuban Padrón. At first light I was hit with cinnamon and baking spices which carried through the entire performance. At the half way mark it wanted to flirt with the classic Cuban twang on the finish and was enough to show that it could be there with some more age. The retrohale for the entire experience was much stronger than I’ve experienced on any other Cuban rolled cigar. It wasn’t intolerable like I’ve seen on some Nicaraguan or Mexican San Andreas rolls, but it was noticeably stronger than you’d find on any Monte, Cohiba, or even Bolivar. Overall I think it was a damn fine specimen albeit a tad young. Luckily I’ve got a pending order for a dress box to look forward to smoking and observing how the La Fuerza ages. Score: 91 with some definite upside. 12
RDB Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Nice review, thanks. When they are right, they are remarkably sweet…
tjkoala Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 Agreed, this one smoked pretty young. I find it interesting how cinnamon and cedar profiles can be so close, I think with some more age that pancake may mellow into these sticks.
