Ramon Allones Specially Selected UMR MAR 21 (R&RRW)

It's a happy Halloween.  My entire family is finally healthy (🤞).  My wife and I have manageable work schedules AND childcare for the first time in a week.  The kiddos are excited for trick-or-treating.  They're dressing up as dinosaurs.  They're making Mom and Dad dress up as farm animals.  The things we do for our kids 😂 Life is good.

I've got a break from an action packed accounting meeting.  Just enough time for a RASS before the kiddos and I make a mad dash for some candy.

I quickly grab one and give it a punch.   Perfect draw with a great Ramon Allones twang to it.

I didn't immediately get these.  Maybe bad luck.  Maybe I never had one with enough age.  It didn't help that I'd only smoked singles and never purchased a box.  With all the other great robustos available, they didn't seem worth pursuing.

Decided to revisit them this year after Rob's top 26 cigars of 2021.  I've been loving RAGs, but they're tough to hunt down.   So, I took a flyer on this dress box before Cigarmageddon.  Worst case I could trade or sell them.  They've definitely got their fans.

Glad I pulled the trigger.  Despite being young, they're smoking well like most '21s.  I've burned through 5 so far from this box and they've all been 90-93 point smokes.  

Time to get down to business.

Light it up and it's quickly firing on all cylinders.  Medium plus body and flavor.  Some nuts.  A woody note.  A bit of spice.  The stewed fruit sweetness.  Everything's mixed just right 👌

Second third and it's more of the same.  The finish is getting longer and leathery.  I'm loving it.

Final third and the leather is ramping up.  The sweetness has moved to the edges.  Everything else is still kicking all the way down to the nub.

Another great cigar.  93 points and an hour well spent.  Never thought I'd love these.  Now, I just hope that I can keep myself away from 'em long enough to see how they age.  Funny how things change.  

I'm even excited to get in my rabbit costume if only for the smiles on my kids' faces.
