Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted October 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2022 I am a long time fan of the Trinidad marca especially the long and skinny Fundadores, so I was particularly unhappy when HSA decided that I needed to become a man of independent means in order to enjoy them. Even at the old rates the Fundy was at my uppermost strata for a lancero. Those days are gone, never to return... I do enjoy a Robusto every now and again, so a 50 rg is also my upper limit. The Esmeralda had little charm for me, purely from a size POV. The ML is a very nice stick; well constructed with a flawless draw and burn. 1st half starts barnyard and malt, quickly transitioning into coffee/malt and a bit of nutmeg and maybe some baking chocolate. Pure Trinidad DNA, as Fearless Leader describes it. I love how good cigars build, which is exactly what this one does. Not too much of an evolutionary journey, as the base flavors don't seem to progress or change much, but build in intensity. 1st half under-medium body and medium flavor to the 2nd half over medium body and flavors. This was #7 from a 12 count box and I have one more box unopened. I'm thinking I will leave these be for 2 more years before revisiting them. Solid 90-91. They definitely have legs for several years to come. 10
