Popular Post gormag38 Posted October 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2022 I picked up my first Siglo II last summer as a single from the LCDH in Playa del Carmen. I smoked it about a month later and was absolutely blown away by how great it was. While not knowing the exact box code and year I was sure that the stick was probably from 2021, as all the stock they had at that time was new. When the summer time price increases were announced this year I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a box while I could still justify it. I overpaid (for the time anyways) and was delighted to find a solid factory code and the year I was looking for. This was my first example from this box. 1/3 Draw seems impeccable. A rare thing these days for a CC. After a fairly typical mild mannered first few puffs, a few flavors begin to become identifiable. Sweet cream and some slight citrus. These two flavors complimented each other quite well. Some wood and bread notes come in and this seems to be smoking much like the previous one I had. 2/3 The burn remains solid so far, no need for touch ups despite being outside. The cream and wood remains but the citrus isn't as identifiable anymore. I start to get some baking spice flavors that come in and compliment the sweet cream quite well. So far this is a mild to medium smoke which is exactly what I was looking for. 3/3 The intensity picks up to medium and leather notes begin to creep in towards the last end of this third. The baking spices are still there and the sweet cream is no longer sweet; just cream I'd say. Regardless this stick is not getting 'spicy' and is still smoking very smooth. I easily hold onto it to nub. Even after burning my fingers a couple times, I still go back to it. Whenever I am chasing a taste and flavor that I had from a first cigar I am often left disappointed. Still to this day I am searching for the Epi2 that 'tasted like my first one'. While I've had very enjoyable Epi2s I have always been disappointed that it 'didn't smoke like the first one I had'. This cigar is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for when I bought the cab. It smoked like the first one I had last summer which is surely a rare thing for me. I only hope the other 24 examples give me the same satisfaction. 94/100 12
