Popular Post oneizzzz Posted October 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 2, 2022 In the first third of this Cohiba Robusto, I noticed strong cinnamon spiciness right off the bat. There was some dark coffee, sweetness, and nougat around the edges, but those flavors were muted and unrefined. Fantastic smoke output and draw. Pretty good construction but some unevenness in the burn made touch-ups necessary. Tastes young and confused. Quite strong. In the second third, this cigar became richer, stronger in chocolate, and developed a lovely malt chocolate aroma. Nutty. Good after dinner taste and strength. In the final third, bitter dullness takes over. The texture is a bit gluey. Continuing to smoke this cigar at this point feels more like a chore than a treat. I decided to put it down after about 50 minutes, I think. Even though I managed to snag this box of Robustos before the price hike, I still wouldn't consider this smoke to be worth its price. Hoping they turn a corner at some point. Considering I haven't had an aged Cohiba Robusto, I don't know what to look for in a young one in terms of evaluating its long-term potential. I did notice promising rich notes of chocolate, nuts, and wildflower honey though. In the end, I enjoyed taking pictures of this cigar nearly as much as I enjoyed smoking it - which I consider to be both an endorsement of the new iphone camera and a criticism of the cigar. If I had to score it, I'd go with 86 or 87. 9
