Popular Post jakebarnes Posted September 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 23, 2022 Prelight: A bit rustic wrapper. On the nose it's a bit bold. Prelight draw in a black tea and peppery. 1st 3rd: Leather and Black tea and a little sweetness. Medium full bodied out of the gate. I always seem to forget that the Upmann marca can have such an intense strength as part of its lines--but I always kind of forget the Mag 46 exists a lot of times too. Smoke is creamy but intense. A little sweet woodiness joins in the background--almost sandlewood--towards the later end of this third. 2nd: That woodiness dances between floral and sandlewood in the beginning here. Roasted nuts flavors soon join the woodiness and tea. What a really nice treat. The sweetness has dissipated with that nuttiness coming in and the roasted nut flavor guides the tea flavor into a rich coffee. 3rd: There's a light licorice dancing in at this point that emerged from a brief flash of ammonia. I forget that this cigar is still relatively young. The roasted nuttiness persists with the coffee. I am very intrigued by how much the smoke coats and has lingered on the palate through this time. Unfortunately, the starts to turn with about an inch and a half left and I decide to let it rest at that point. Final thoughts: Very enjoyable treat in this one. Still some roughness around the edges given the age, but a welcome change of pace flavor profile that isn't found in a lot of cuban cigars (lately, at least). Gonna give this 90/100. 11 1
