Popular Post SeacoastFirewood
I’ve been wanting to smoke this cigar since I picked it up in May, but have not found the time until now, since 20-30 min is about the window I have. I don’t know when it was rolled, but my understanding is its a NC Puro. It has been resting in my desktop humidor with my CC. Initial impression of this 6” by 50RG cigar is the construction is excellent. The cold draw produced some nice subtle flavors ranging from peppery to a hidden cocoa. I toasted the foot and lit it with a cedar split and it came to life within 3 puffs. I immediately planned on smoking as much as I could so all bands were removed. First 3rd- delicate bread notes with some molasses mixed in, perfect draw, which was a nice change of pace from my Monte 5’s. Even burn throughout with no touchups needed. Second 3rd- the bread turns sweet, graham crackers show up and the draw is plentiful. Really impressed with how the cigar can sit in the stand, hold ash and keep going as needed. No touching up needed. Final third- decided to pair this with a double pour of Elijah Craig and the cedar comes to life. Great tobacco aftertaste and it’s at this point where I start googling where to get another few sticks. Overall, very happy with this NC, not too strong and excellent flavors. The draw and construction was exactly was one expects from a great NC cigar. Definitely a mild cigar but with real bold flavors. The ash didn’t hold as well once I got down to the last 1.5”, but for $8 it was an enjoyable purchase. Lasted exactly 83 minutes. 92/100
