Popular Post mnsmokes Posted August 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 13, 2022 Special smoke for a special occasion. Picked these up about two years ago and finally got around to breaking them out. A nice cool summer night post dinner spent outside celebrating my grandfather’s 95th. Brought over a couple different choices and let him pick what we would be enjoying for the night. Draw was perfect on all 3 (mine, father’s, and grandfather’s) Great representation of what a quality product can do when aged. Started out heavy with cedar and a hint of salt. Slowly transforming to waves of salted sweet cherry to a light honey. At one point my grandfather enquired about the cost of the sticks. At the mention of $22 a stick, he couldn’t help himself from reminiscing about how his father used to buy cubans for $2-$3 and was the guy everyone always wanted to trade sticks with. For a man that has been smoking an average of 6-8 a day for about 40-50 years, it’s an absolute treat to share a couple hours enjoying something he hasn’t tried before. On my personal scale, this is definitely towards the top. Perfect construction, classic RyJ flavors, nice touch of age. Let’s call it 90/100. The company I smoked with…100/100 (or 95 if your counting his candles ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 13
jakebarnes Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 Thanks for the review! Glad it was a cigar that matched the magic of the evening. I wish RyJ went back to this look and packaging. The modern version seems to cheapen what was always an amazingly elegant package.
