Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection (C&CRW)

Aganorsa is one of my favorite NC brands and the signature selection corona gorda is my favorite line Aganorsa offers.

These come in a beautiful gold foil wrapper - the maduro comes in a silver foil wrapper. Upon removing the gold foil, I’m greeted with a stunning medium brown wrapper that has a slight hint of red to it. I decided to go with a V-cut for this even though I’ve been on a double-V cut kick here recently.

 

The cold draw is oh so tasty with notes of leather, earth and a wood that reminds me of a cherry tree.

 

The first third presents flavors of leather, that same distinct cherry tree, and a savory sweet and creaminess and some pepper on the retrohale.

 

In the second third the flavors remain mostly the same with some subtle changes. The leather and cherry seem to be more in the background and have been replaced with a cashew-esque nuttiness and what is reminiscent of a citrus twang.

 

The final third sees the strength pickup a bit. The earth notes have transitioned into an earthy hay or dead grass. The nuttiness, cream and pepper are all very tasty - the main difference is the strong return of the cherry tree wood, which I absolutely just love.

 

The burn and draw of the cigar were phenomenal all the way through. I had to touch it up once towards the end of the first third but besides that there were no issues with the construction.

 

I have a box of the Aganorsa Signature Robusto and Corona Gorda and love both. I’m a sucker for the corona gorda vitola so maybe there’s some bias here (or a lot lol) but I will smoke one of these every week or two as they are a staple in my rotation.

I have to give this particular stick a 96 - it provided almost everything I look for in a cigar and a hell of a pleasant experience.
