Popular Post NapaNolan Posted February 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2022 I bought three of these on a work trip to Barcelona in 2013. This is the first I've smoked of those. A few years ago I pulled the foil off of one and noticed it had a little mold so I went ahead and removed the foil from all three. Absolutely beautiful, silky smooth wrapper, no tooth at all. Really feels like primo Cohiba wrapper quality. Smelling the wrapper I got sweet leather, barnyard, clay, cinnamon and cocoa (sort of a Mexican chocolate combo). Draw was fairly firm but workable, cold draw gave me milk chocolate, caramel, hay and peanut butter. This thing is just so big. I wasn't really pulling smoke until the ash got to the widest point of the foot. The first third offered a very light bodied smoke, very fresh and very 'easy' flavors. Peanut butter, brown sugar, hay, salinity, with a touch of vegetal astringency that actually provided some complexity and wasn't really a detractor. The second third was fairly similar with light cedar, grass, hay, simple and light. The final third was more or less the same as the second with a return of the vegetal astringency but I didn't like it as much. I basically gave up with a Monte Petit #2 left, with a smoking time of 2:48. It tunneled a bit and went out three times. Ambient humidity is crazy high though so I'm sure that was a main culprit. Overall, I really liked the cigar, moreso that reviews I read this morning. I just don't want to smoke one cigar for this long again. I'd rather have two Exclusivos. Probably a 50/50 on whether I'd recommend this cigar, very dependent on the person. No idea when I'll get around to the other two. 7
bishop532 Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Those pictures really drive home how ridiculously big of a cigar this is. I can definitely understand the preference for two shorter smokes instead. Though your review made it sound pretty damn good 😁
