Popular Post bishop532 Posted January 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 4, 2022 Siboney Reserve is a great under-the-radar NC. They are made by Aganorsa, which tends to put out quality cigars in my experience. It’s a solid cigar with some Cubanesque traits. I decided to smoke a lonsdale tonight. The toro size is good too. The wrapper is corojo, and is a nice medium brown with maybe a touch of red. The aroma off the foot smells like pastries or French bread. After cutting, the cold draw has a strong apricot flavor. The first third is wood and leather with a bit of spice on the retro. After ten minutes or so it begins to pick up a tannic note. Construction is solid until now, though it’s burning kind of fast. At the second third, along with cedar and pepper, I pick up a bready note which is reminiscent of the cold aroma. I get this flavor fro Cohiba Shorts fairly often. This is one of my favorite notes in a cigar and I wish it would stay but it ends with the 2nd third. Construction is a bit of a problem in the middle as the cigar develops an uneven burn. I correct it and everything is copacetic until the end. The final third is cedary and spicy but also sweet. There’s definitely some kind of dried fruit in there, along with baking spices and some pepper. This was a good cigar for a Monday night. Inexpensive and easygoing but still tasty. Total Smoking Time: 54 minutes Score: 90/100 6
