Popular Post saltbox
Snagged a box of these aged ones off 24:24 a while ago. I was curious about how these were doing, as they're on the older end of what I have in my collection. Haven't had any other Cohiba maduros yet, but I've had the Partagas maduro and the flavor of the maduro wrapper was quite overpowering. First third: opens with chocolate fudge, cream, and a touch of hay. 13 years of age and the chocolate is definitely quite powerful. Fudgy sweetness on the finish. There's maybe a touch of a light grassy note in the background. The creamy milk chocolate fudge here is similar to the Partagas Maduro No. 1 I've had before, but whereas the Partagas had a bready sourdough base, this Cohiba has a more grassy one. Middle third: not much evolution, more of the same milk chocolate fudge over light grassiness. Last third: some coffee joins the flavor profile, but otherwise not much evolution in this small stick. Overall: a tasty treat, but even with 13 years the flavor profile is heavily dominated by milk chocolate and I don't know if that will ever change. It's good, but it's not particularly interesting, and at the price point there's just other better cigars for me. 88/100
