El Presidente Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I found the flight pricing to be interesting. Why The New US Travel Rules Are Bad News For Travellers From Cuba 1

With only one carrier, flying one RT per week. They will drop significantly through December, especially if 90% of the customers (Cuban Based Mules) cant get into the states. Don't forget, the last regime threw a couple parting shots on their way out so it will be harder (but not impossible) for US citizens to make the trip now as well. Prices In January(with 5 carriers flying at least a daily RT) are maybe 15-20% higher than pre pandemic. I'm waiting to see if they drop more before I book anything. Its going to be choppy for months, with carriers adding/subtracting flights to get the right balance. If demand continues the way it has for other international destinations, I wouldnt be surprised if a couple carriers dropped the country from their route maps all together.(united still hasnt made flights bookable on their website yet) Its been near impossible to hire back many of the people the airlines dumped a year ago. Why fly a 30% full plane to Cuba when you can fill that same plane and fly it to Costa Rica or Puerto Rico? 2
