Montecristo Edmundo - Unknown (JBWP4RW)

Bought a quarter box from 2424 in June, but didn't write down the box code - I mainly smoke NC's so I have a tendency to forget that little detail.  It started off well, with a great draw and some notes of hay, but that's about as good as it got.  It slowly became a chemically astringent taste, somewhere between plastic and rubber.  Occasionally, I'd get notes of cream and chocolate peaking through, but they could never overcome that chemical taste.  I had assumed that I was experiencing Cuba's infamous quality control or that maybe they just needed some more down time, but I had another cigar later in the evening that had virtually the same taste.  This was one was a NC though, inexpensive but extremely consistent flavor wise - a flavor that is not anywhere that of a Cuban Montecristo.  No idea why I tasted them as the same - I haven't been sick and everything else I've had to eat or drink has tasted normal to me.  Hopefully it doesn't continue - guess I'll find out tomorrow if it was a one time thing or not.
