I love the Laguito #2 vitola. If I ever get to Cuba for some custom rolls, it will be these and Lanceros I’m taking home. In my fantasy world I smoke these in my library, dogs at feet, log fire burning, and a glass of something bad for me on the table. As it is, here I am in my garden ‘office’ again.

I have two boxes of these Especial no.2s from 2019, the other one being ASR ABR code. That one is magic: all deep chocolate with fruity spices wafting in and out. This box is lighter, and has been a bit more grassy, herbal and woody. You know, not so good. But, strangely it seems to have come together and put on a bit of flesh over the last year or so. 

This stick has a slightly funny appearance with some green spots. But the draw - which is always a worry on skinnies - was fine. Snug but fine. And the smoke was right in that lighter, more herbal range for Monte, but with enough body and some shifting complexity. A little sweetness, but no chocolate milkshake for sure. Good regular burn, and overall a solid 1 on the binary scale.
