I don’t often smoke non Cuban cigars anymore. When I do, I limit those to more small batch style smokes.

Im a fan of Casdagli (also known as Bespoke) cigars. Named for the Casdagli family who owns the brand and rolled at the Kelner family operation in DR. The same people who make Davidoff line.

These cigars use various aged leaf from Kelners reserves. They also use Peruvian and Ecuadorian leaf for unique characteristics.

Tonight I smoked from the Daughters of the Wind line. This particular stick a ‘Pony Express 2000’. A 6 x 48 stick with serious box press. Tobaccos are Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Costa Rican and Nicks binder, Peruvian and DR oscuro ligero filler. They really are making it a busy smoke aren’t they.

Presentation is fantastic. Tight wrap with low seams. A bit soft in the squeeze, but happy to find it’s not a wind tunnel after cutting. Crazy right box press.  Practically 90 degree corners.

No taste on the lips before lighting, or during smoking for that matter. Very neutral indeed.

So, I should say…I do not have a great palate. But I did get graham cracker’esque flavors, almond, leather and some cocoa.

Medium body to start and medium full towards the end. Heavy smoke output and a pleasant aroma. I enjoyed it thoroughly but will let the others rest for a few months. This was mail order and I received it only 4 days ago.

I paired it with a Coke which was a good choice. I usually do a soda or beer..I was out of beer.

If you enjoy new world cigars, or get curious about them from time to time, I would suggest a Casdagli.

I didn't get a lot of flavor off the Daughters of the Wind Cremello, and the Gran Cafe lancero was very similar, very dull and muted, which was surprising since lancero's normally have a bit of punch. I've got some more sitting, maybe I'll give them another try this weekend.

I may have to try some of the larger vitola's like the one your smoking, maybe that the key to Casdagli

I’ve only had the larger size so maybe that is it. They seem to want to put a lot of various leaf into the sticks.
