H. Upmann Half Corona - GOS SEP 19 (L&SRW1)

Rested just over two months at 62RH with 1 year 4 months box age. First Upmann Half Corona for me, as I've been exploring more of the various short smoke vitolas that are easier to fit in throughout the day.

First third: Opens with a nice sweet donut dough and coffee. There's a touch of leather on the retrohale and a nice light sweetness on the finish.

Middle third: The donut becomes a bit more like a shortbread cookie and the coffee becomes a bit darker and richer.

Last third: More of the same shortbread cookie and black coffee through to the end.

Overall: Tasty if not one dimensional, but that's to be expected with these short smokes. This one bore a lot of resemblance to the Quai d'Orsay and Trinidad's I've had, with the cake/donut type flavor notes. This smoke did seem a bit muted, and I wonder if the two months of rest weren't quite enough as this box was on the higher RH side when I first received it if I recall correctly. 88/100 but I expect more from this box with some more time to settle the RH down.
