Popular Post justince Posted January 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2021 If you didn't read my previous Lusitania review, in a nutshell, unfortunately had a dud stick, so I reach out for a good ole' reliable Party short. Shorts are probably my overall favorite stick. Is it the best stick I ever had? No. But, in my experience across several boxes, they're the most consistent, reasonably priced sticks in what I consider to be probably the second most flexible format (that would go to a Marevas in my mind). You can easily milk one out for an hour, or pound it down in 20 minutes if you so need to. And, if you need to put it out, it's not a whole lot of tobacco going to waste. So as an every day smoke, they're probably my favorite. Party shorts to me are straight shooters. Not much in the transition department, but that's totally fine. Most shorts tend to be really consistent in my experience: medium+, sourdough, wood & spice through and through. All flavor, no strength. 1st half, standard ballpark flavors. Sourdough definitely stands out. Once we get to the 2nd half, that's when the spice & the woody notes tend to overtake that sourdough on the pallet. Probably has to do with the heat coming through rather than the the blend, but that's my overall experience. Burn got a bit wonky as I entered the 2nd half, but that was easily corrected & overall didn't impact the smoking experience. They're a 91 smoke all day long in my book. Occasionally, you'll get a dud that has kind of a soapy taste, but that's really rare. One of the more consistent Cuban's in my experience. 5
