Popular Post maverickdrinker
First Third Sancho Panza has one of the most unique flavour profiles I have experienced. Earth, chalk, light oak, leather, liquorice and a touch of sea salt. The retrohale is cloying. Pungent. Earth, light oak, white pepper and leather move easily through the nasal passages. The after finish is equally unique. Earth, wild mushrooms, light oak, white pepper and leather to start. Gently fades into liquorice, sea salt, chalk, with touches of lavender and sour cherries on the back end. So different to what I traditionally smoke. Second ThirdThe draw is starting to tighten up. Very odd. Earth, light oak and leather take precedence in the retrohale. Chalk, earth, lavender and liquorice start to take over the flavour profile in the after finish. Has a drying effect on the palate. A sweetness is starting to develop as well. The salt note has dissipated and the mushroom note seems to have toned down. Leather, white pepper and light oak have also turned down the volume and move to the back end of the flavour profile. Very different indeed... Final ThirdVery pungent on the retrohale now. Earth, leather, light oak and clove move anxiously through the nasal passages. The after finish is astringent now. Leaves a sour note on the palate. Light oak, wild mushrooms, liquorice, clove, lavender, leather, earth and oolong tea lead the way with little reprieve. No real change or accents. Bitter and off putting. An unfortunate ending... Final ImpressionsThe cigar itself is a sum of three parts. Constantly evolving as I move through the thirds. Subtle twists and turns that keep you guessing. Fun to experience once in awhile to see the range of flavours that tobacco can provide you. A good change of pace and a very unique experience, given the age.
