Popular Post Wailbait Posted October 29, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2020 Love this idea. I was the kid that ate the crappy Halloween candy first and saved the “good stuff”. When I finally got around to it, much of it was melted or stale. I save far too much and never enjoy it. This particular cigar is quite precious to me. I never had a full box having only been able to find a partial a couple of years back. When they do turn up, they can be spendy. What I have loved about it, is it’s complexity. Also, it ABSOLUTELY does not taste like a Ramon Allones. Maybe it’s the blend, maybe it’s the format. But for some reason I get tea tea tea. its a lovely wrapper. Cold draw is muted and weight is normal. It just looks like a perfect 898. But it’s subtle and soft. Burn is generally good and draw is superb throughout. I love the complexity of this cigar but I keep commenting on how if one liked the typical Allones profile, this might not do it for them. My friend smoked one of my 08 Partagas 898’s and even the room note off that one was twice as strong. I paired this cigar with a nice gin martini and it worked well. The only other Allones that I have had that deviated (pleasantly) so much from the expected Allones profile was the Silver Jubilee. And that also is a rockstar. This cigar is precious. I am pleased to have enjoyed it. Thanks FOH for compelling me to do so. 8
