Popular Post GavLew79
I've reviewed these before so I won't linger; it's easy to harp on about how good these are for too long. It's now my 5th from the box. Every one has been great. Maybe not the most expensive in my collection (close) but certainly my most prized. Paired with a hoppy lager, Tamdhu 12 to start then something a little less pedestrian; Highland Park Cask Strength Release No.1. Just checking these are still worthy of being my Xmas day smoke. Hell yeah. First third; earthy, salty, coffee, cookies and cream. Intensely woody through the nose with a lingering herby, vegetal character. Rosewater vestige. A hum-dinger of a start. Construction is out of this world. The rollers deserve statues erected in their honour along the Malecõn. Razor sharp burn line. The sharp, bitter lager contrasts and brings out the sweetness. The Tamdhu its earthiness. The Highland Park is huge. A behemoth. But the cigar copes, nay shines, in its presence. These cigars are an event. In the booze world, 'balance' is often talked about. This cigar is blended so well, all the elements are there for you, in perfect harmony, each playing it's part but not shouting over the others. The second and third thirds just pass by in a melange of greatness. Entranced, I forget to record flavours. Just blissful enjoyment. We're going all out for Xmas this year, because f@#k COVID! When the Cristal, Pol Roger Sir Winston and Meursault are flowing, you can bet that I'll have one of these in my hand, with a shit-eating grin on my face, thankful for everything we have. 95/100.
Deeg
I’ve had my eye on that HPCS since it was first announced. What do you think of it?
armada_crew
Thanks for the review. I have a box of La Trova I haven't cracked yet, and as soon as I go pick up a bottle of that Highland Park, I will be ready for the holidays as well, cheers.

Don't get the typical smokiness, just massive orangey, fruity, spicy hit. It's not massively expensive so worth picking up but I don't know...might need more time to open up? 17 hours ago, armada_crew said: Thanks for the review. Good stuff, I'm sure they'll serve you well! Cheers!

Yeah, I guess. Otherwise why wouldn't they add an age statement? As Ardbeg and the Octomores have proven, even if it's only 5 years, I'd prefer to know and there's much less of a stigma so the bottles sell very well!
