I picked up this box of montecristo #4 HQ back a while ago. I’ve smoked a couple here and there, I like them but they never blew my mind. My closest friend recently had a birthday and he’s been getting into cigars. So of course I had to get him something to get him started on his cigar journey, I got him a 15 count travel humidor, torch lighter, cutter, some butane and a five cigar Cuban sampler from my collection. Some time passes and I ask him which was his favorite? He said the montecristo #4. So I said, I haven’t smoked one in a really long time. I grabbed one and and couldn’t believe what a little age does to Cuban tobacco! Absolutely amazing aroma, with flavors of cocoa, spice a little coffee. I goes to show you, if you get something that doesn’t blow your mind, be patient and you may be surprised what a little age can do! I rate it a 93 out of 100, gonna save the rest of the box and try one when they hit the 3 year mark.
